Andy
F'rinstance, I've lived (and paid taxes) in England for 40+ years now, and its not so different to Scotland anyway. You won't be saying that if Alex Salmond gets his way.
altus
yep thanks Luckily for me I dont have the same genes over and over again Are you sure about that? In 1617 a survey showed Sheffield had a population of 2,207. By the standards of the time it was a respectably sized town though it was by no means large. Where were the other 63300? Ms Macbeth
You won't be saying that if Alex Salmond gets his way. I'm not scared of him! I really don't think we're so different, anyway I like lots of English people, I even married one! People's behaviour is what counts, and that isn't based on their country of origin or their ancestry. I'm interested however in the issues the OP wants to comment on. mafya
I can rather easily trace back my family to 1600 or soo in this area; on the other (better) side I can do the same to Gloucestershire / Herefordshire.. Does that not make me able to comment more on "English" issues than other people who may not have been here for so long? You can comment on "English" issues till the cows come home for all I care.
