China's World Dominance

Recommended Posts

At least Chinese astronauts aren't in the embarrassing position of having to "hitch a lift" if they want to go into space.

Russian Rocket Gives NASA a Lift to Space Station

Without the shuttle, NASA has no way of putting astronauts into space on its own.

The Chinese don't have this problem.

Even Iran is getting in on the act

Iran Space Agency to launch a monkey into space

Shuttling back and forward to the space station is old hat but if it gives the space newbies a thrill and gives a needed boost to national pride so be it :hihi: Let em orbit the earth, send up monkeys and land on the moon. Bin there, done that !

NASA has taken a step further by adopting such technology as the Mars Rover to potentially probe much further into space and transmit vital data from planets even more distant than Mars.

Since human space travel to such planets is still not technically possible this is the only way to know what lies beyond what's presently known and eventually when the problems and technical difficulties have been overcome and interplanetry travel becomes possible sometime in the future a lot of knowledge will have already been gained as to what to expect when landings do actually take place

Wasn't China's population large 10 years ago?

Why weren't they the world's no. 1 exporter in 1982?

So according to your view of history, Deng Xiaoping didn't make a ha'porth of difference?

This is why the US national debt is set to reach $20 trillion by 2016 and why their debt ceiling has had to be raised 75 times in 50 years.

As a point of reference, it took just over 200 years for the US to rack up $1 trillion dollars of debt [1981], but only a further 17 years to hit $10 trillion [1998]. And it will have taken less than 8 years to double that amount.

Being a superpower "on tick" catches up with you eventually, just look at the USSR.

China doesn't need ships to sink the indebted US.

Pentagon prepares for economic warfare

Although not mentioned in the above link, James Rickards' book Currency Wars is well worth a read.

You just dont get it. China's whole future prosperity and well being is tied to it's foreign markets. If the economy worldwide goes down the toilet so does China's and that means that any hopes that the country's domestic market can become affluent enough to absorb the loss of exports at such a time and keep people in jobs goes down with it.

The US has more natural resources, including oil than most other countries in the world but it just hasnt been exploted to anywhere near it's full capacity at this time.

China on the other hand doesn't have any natural resources and will always have to rely on 100 percent of it's oil supply from foreign countries . It also has other problems including a serious imbalance between males and females, a huge rapidly aging population which will have to be supported by a much smaller younger generation in the near future and a horrendous amount of pollution to clean up
