Girl framed by Muslim cleric still in hiding despite no case to answer.

Recommended Posts

So far away in a distant land, all was far from right, and bad things happened, according to the post: A court in Pakistan has dropped a controversial blasphemy case against a Christian girl accused by her neighbour of burning pages from the Koran. Rimsha's lawyer said the case had been a misuse of law.

Meanwhile in the UK people are arrested, put in jail for making jokes, and lately posting a picture of burning a poppy. http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/12/kent-man-arrested-burning-poppy. Like in distant lands laws are being passed here so people can be tried in private, by a judge, and never heard of or seen again, but this is the UK and its all right, one assumes. But bad if anything like it happens in a developing country.

Pointing fingers at foreigners, both here and abroad, is fine in order to highlight wrongs, but this overlooks worse crimes happening and being constructed by our Brave New State. It makes one wonder if its really just about stirring up racism, encouraging prejudice, through pretending its an important issue.

In the next few years one will need a signed document to have a Sh*t at the rate new legislation is being passed over here, under the umbrella of saving us from terrorism, not banking fraud, or financial manipulation. Free speech is under attack, welcome to the revised East German Stasi population procedure, now alive and well in the UK!

you been to planet earth recently?

I know its good form to ignore Trolls but I just thought Id ask ?

Shouldn't the cleric now be tried for blasphemy? If I remember correctly he burned and planted the pages himself

Good point.

"The case against the Muslim cleric, accused of framing her, will proceed, says the BBC's Orla Guerin in Islamabad.

He will be tried for making a false accusation."

I imagine making a false accusation is something of a lesser offence.

The Public Order Act 1986 is an act listing various forms of public order offenses in the UK. Its Sections 4a and 5 have regularly been in the spotlight for their broad understanding of whom and how a person was harassed, alarmed or distressed.

Section 5 reads:

A person is guilty of an offence if he—

[a] uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior, or disorderly behavior, or

displays any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby.

This law is being questioned as: the case where an Oxford student was arrested for saying to a policeman: “Excuse me, do you realize your horse is gay?”

“What this law has been used for is firstly to stifle inconvenient political views – so views which are against Islam, views which are against Christianity, views which are against the equality of homosexuals. So people who say that sort of thing can be arrested. The second way is police who use it as a catchall – to arrest you if everything else fails.”

No comparison to the OP ..the people(adults) in your link posted pictures on the internet ,this was done to goad people who still revere the symbol of the poppy...The girl in the op (with learning difficulties) didnt actually do anything ..When are people going to stop making excuses for these animals.they would have been quite happy for the girl to be stoned to death after all that event is not unusual over there...all in the name of Islam(The religion of peace) of course

So we have sincere Islam haters, tarring all with the same brush, but hold on did not Bush start the war against Islam, as in Christians against Islam? So Islam became bad, and Christianity with hundreds of years of paedophiles getting choir boys to sing, off record of course, thus destroying unimaginable numbers of lives, so Christianity is OK.

So some who have a chip on their shoulder need to rub it up a bit for a thrill, and they have a clear target, and based on fragments of evidence that fits the distorted picture they worship. this time its Islam, but any convenient target will do in reality.

All ideologies are meant to bring insecure people into a larger family, giving them a sense of identity, and all are false, as its not the individual that benefits but the organisation, feeding like leeches off vulnerable people. Then one has the ideological haters, who adhere to a ramshackled ideology based on little more than believing an ideology is very bad indeed. They argue small points, scoring hits, like jerrking off in public, gives a flagging ego a boost. But in reality these lost souls are just marching under a different flag, and spouting the same nonsense with the same sense of conviction as the misguided people they critisise. Two sides of a psychologically disfigurement, different skin colours, different causes, but equally sadistic intent towards people they do not know but worse, are not interested in them a people at all.

I personally find it amusing that the ideologically intoxicated want to eradicate each other and in a perfect world they would both die in the attempt, but sadly its not that perfect, and all we are left dealing with is lynch mob mentality, dressed up as educated concerned, and reasonable psychopaths, pretending to be honourable decent people.

Are you basically saying that extremists on both sides are as bad as each other?

Well done, all extremists are dangerous, saying different thing, flying different flags, and wearing e clothes, but its their actions that count, and its hard to decide between the frying pan and the fire.

We are talking extremes, where the ill-educated lock horns in a game of opposing views, and of course not their interpretations are admissible, its a game we are all encouraged to play, the game of opposites, as its simplistic, one does not have to know much detail, but just enough to get the blood to boil, with inevitable consequences.

We can thank the simple minded president Bush, who told the world how to think either with us or against us, so even questioning becomes the enemy. Simple explanations for a simple world audience. Its gratifying to realise how so many on this site emulate the educational and academic qualities of the ex drunk of a president.

You are so right, Bush is NOT at all "to blame for the stonings ,the honour killings and all the other pleasant pastimes they get up to in the name of Allah"

In fact he Bush the Lush, and his band of heroes would never stoop so low. What is the point far too few get killed that way, its expensive, time consuming, if not a waste of time.

No these are just petty crimes, compared to killing over a million Iraq's, covering the land with depleted uranium, as in Libya, and Afghanistan. No petty murder is nothing compared to mass murders, who needs tyrants when we have the USA and its band of heroes killing for corporate profit. The ones needs to create terrorists, people who object to their families being murdered in the name of democracy and freedom. So with vengeful people, they can then milk their taxpayers for billions to pay for wars, and watch their friends shower the government of the day with corporate goodies. On the other hand some like Blair get their rewards after the damage is done. Don’t you just love the smell of freedom.

What you tend to forget is we in the democratic west do things so much better, and always leave a mutilated country full of mutations and with the uranium everywhere, its generation after generation. Deformed children are normal occurrences in all the places depleted uranium explosives are used, so Bosnia, never mind the 6 wars in Africa with drones spreading the future magic deformity dust, in Somalia, Yemen, soon Syria, and lets not forget the cravings for the obliteration of Iran by Israel and its bully friends.

Those killing in the name of Allah, just cannot compete or compare with professional democratic killers, warmongers. So lets continue to blame the few, while hundreds of thousands meet their maker thanks to NATO, and other USA military fronts.

Knowing a little is good. People with limited knowledge of bigger pictures might decide one day to check other facts, evaluate a bit more evidence, and maybe see things in a perspective never imagined before. On the other hand ignorance is bliss, and its nice to have a laugh at how daft some people are. Thought of becoming a comedian?

Firstly, the insults are doing your credibility no favours.

Secondly, why do you keep assuming that anyone who is critical of fundamentalist practices in the name of Islam is blind to the iniquities of the west?

It is possible, you know, to have a rounded world view that tries to take into account both the positives and the negatives of the variety of world religions and cultures.
