Sierra Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 I accidentally ran over a ground squirrel once. I saw him inching out towards the road with those jerky movements that squirrels have and I slowed down. I was praying he wouldn't come any farther because traffic was whizzing by on both sides and I couldn't change lanes just then. As I got closer, he seemed to freeze in his spot. I was starting to relax when at the last second, he darted out right under the right front wheel of my car. It was like he was trying to commit suicide. You wouldn't think such a small animal would make such a big bump. In my rear view mirror, he looked like a squirrel version of a bear skin rug.
