Sheffield based progressive pop band Alvarez Kings return home on Friday 7th December with their biggest local show to date headlining the mainstage at The Plug.

Hot off the heels of a hugely successful, mammoth, month long tour across the US and Canada the band are looking forward to play once again to their local fans, friends and family. The start of the tour kicked off at CMJ festival in NYC just a week before the storms hit and saw the band play to a packed crowd with the NY Daily news saying:

"The most outgoing, and promising, of the acts turned out to be Alvarez Kings. With their manic beats, jabbing guitars and pushy bass, they’re all staccato energy. In songs “You Me Them Us” and “Fractured Bones and Reputations,” they contrasted harsh, Gang of Four-style guitars with Brit-pop melodies bright enough for Blur. Their best song turned out to be the newest, “Postcards From Berlin,” which had the kind of melody that could buck the trend and let a decidedly U.K.-sound make it in the U.S."

And the influential industry insider Beatswagger choosing Alvarez Kings as the number 1 pick of CMJ.

The band then flew out to Canada to play a string of sold out shows with big up-and-comers Hey Ocean starting in Toronto and finishing in Vancouver with an epic 8000km on the clock traveled!

So with some already exciting news planned in 2013 across the Atlantic it is at The Plug on 7th December from their humble beginnings where the band play out their successful 2012 in style with local support acts Darke Horse, Twin Bears, Sour Cherry, The Encounters and Nathanna joining them on the bill. Tickets £6.
