llamatron
See my post above! When they played Old Trafford and the Stadium of Light a couple of years ago there seemed to be a collective bout of knicker wetting amongst ladies of a certain age! not enough for an OBE, and where are the others OBEs? It clearly isn't for being in take that.
S10mainly
I assume its for "other works" but ya never know, that Duchess of Cambridge might have had a word with Ma in Law

Conrod
Conrod and 'ol S10 align themselves with Smarmy Dave and his handing out of baubles. They dont realise they are just 'plebs'. The Tory hierarchy wouldn't give them the time of day..............This is priceless - do you really forget the way Blair & Co handed out baubles to their chosen? Really? As for the plebs and time of day, think what you wish to think - if it makes you feel better.
gnvqsos
He's also done quite a bit for charity thorugh Comic Relief and Children in Need. We could of course list a plethora of 'pop celebs' who were granted state awards by the Blair government, including those who have done little with their careers except self-fulfillment, drugs and adultery. I think you are being very hard on the Blair team as some were quite abstemious in their leisure pursuits, not to mention Prescott and Mandelson. Mister M
No I dont...I just love to laugh at the bitter and twisted failiures that would rather knock other people than actually try and make something of thier own disasterous lives. It's interesting how whenever celebrated artists, actors and the like declared their support for the Labour Party the bitter and twisted failures on here rattle out the tired old 'Champagne Socialist' line as if it was a pearl of wisdom....More to do with the politics of envy than anything I suppose
Tradescanthia
I like your signature Mister M, it describes the Torys to a tee.
Tradescanthia
Its not party political - but any true socialist knows that such baubles are only handed out to hangers on and lick spittles Is everyone in S10 like you ??? I certainly hope not................
Bypassblade
No I dont...I just love to laugh at the bitter and twisted failiures that would rather knock other people than actually try and make something of thier own disasterous lives. Sorry S10; its wrong to say that people have lead disastrous lives when, you don't know them personally. I am not rich financially or famous, but has my life been a disaster, I think not. I have a fantastic wife, 3 great kids (grown up), 3 fantastic grandkids & a loving family. What people ought to remember when the honours are handed out is, that who ever is in power, some celebs will be guaranteed one. Yet people who deserve them don't get them, they have to be nominated by someone to be considered and then possibly get one. If someone is nominated for one you are not supposed to let them know, they have been so nominated. When people like Beckham get them I start to question the system, I think he'll end up a "sir" eventually . I have no problems with a lot of "ordinary" people getting them, but celebs just for smiling as it were, sorry no. Okay he does a lot of charity work, so do loads of ordinary folk, but they are not in the position to have their mugs all over the news, they do it because they care. If he was so caring & such an upright bloke, perhaps he'd pay the tax he should be paying instead of squirming out of it.

That S10mainly thinks people who are not rich and famous are failures says more about him/her than it does about others.
