Yeast free dining

Hi Peeps :o)

I'm on a special anti-candida diet due to health issues and struggling for ideas eating out.

My ideal diet is Vegan with no yeast or sugar - I know a little specific but though someone out there might know of somewhere.

Many thanks

Blue Moon Café could certainly do the vegan part and would be able to tell you the ingredients of anything that they have made, but for any restaurant that buys any ready made ingredients in you may well struggle.

It's a shame that Kumquat Mae aren't still up and running because they catered for me several times when I was on a restricted diet that was vegan, gluten free and without nuts or citrus.

Thanks Medusa :)

Yes love Blue Moon and remember KumQuat Mae fondly.

Yeah sounds about as strict as mine at the moment :)

I guess I needed to be a bit more specific in that I was looking for resturants to go to for a night out. Looks like I may struggle.

Many thanks anyways

Thanks for that Claret - had seen Pure On Raw - unfortunately they don't open in the evening.

Will have a look at the blogs you sent me thought - thank you very much for your help.

Enjoy ur day x

Ah, I hadn't realised that. The blogs are just in my signature - they may not be of much as I'm a real lover of meat!!

Hope you do find somewhere!

Hi Timtom

We can do you something at Otto's.

All the dishes below are also yeast free. We make them ourselves.

Zaalouk, pea soup and harira soup are vegan starters.

Vegetable tagine or vegetable couscous are both vegan main courses.

We do a vegetable filo parcel in a tomato and chick pea sauce.

I believe that filo pastry is yeast free but I will have to check

because I'm not the one who does the cooking at Otto's.

Strawberry and passion fruit sorbet dessert would be suitable for you.

I will double check the flour less chocolate and almond cake

raising agent with chef later but it does contain egg so isn't vegan.

I'm not sure from your post if you do sometimes eat egg as I think you said preferably vegan.

A lot of independent restaurants will try and offer you something

if you just let them know in advance. They will know what they put in

their food.

Good luck. I hope you find a few options.

Fusion cafe in town has a vegan chef called Komal

and has quite a few vegan dishes every day.

They used to do bistro evenings so you could try there.

Komal also does a food blog which may give you some ideas.

I know she's on Twitter as well.

Regards

Tad1
