Goalin Crazy
Anyone else going to check out the ales and music @ the Cremorne this weekend. I have heard rumours of Pictish, and loads of the usually stocked Saltaire, not sure what other treats are in store, but give us a post if you find something good on, as I probably won't make it in until the weekend? Goalin Crazy
Had a night in Cremorne last night, Nick forwarded me the tasting notes for today, but maybe had a few too many last night to attend today??? Pictish Porter 4.4% - A classic dark ale with added hops, it's a light and very drinkable beer despite its deceptively dark colour. A mellow, slightly bitter flavour balances a subtle hop aroma and a complex blend of roasted malts. Great Newsome Sleck Dust 3.8% - A great session ale, this low strength beer never the less boasts three hop varieties in its recipe and is a light, refreshing ale with a slight bitterness in the finish. Jem's Stout 4.3% - A dark traditional stout with excellent roasted malt tones, a strong lingering bitterness with just a hint of liquorice. White Rabbit 4.2% - A golden ale from East Yorkshire, this beer has been dry hopped to give it extra aroma and bitter, hop flavour. Double Top Serendipity 4.6% - A rich, ruby red ale with distinct chocolate flavours throughout, it encompasses a light body full of rich roast malt with a slightly bittersweet but not overpowering finish. A great winter ale! Wentworth Liquorice Stout 4.8% - A dark, strongly flavoured stout laced with a large dose of liquorice, giving it a very individual and potent flavour. Full Malty 5.1% - A powerful and strong ale made with loads of malt, this ale has a caramel aroma and subtle fruit undertones to its strong, biscuity body. Maypole Wellow Gold 4.6% - A very drinkable golden ale bursting with citrus flavours, perfect for taking the edge off a long autumn day. Sheffield Brew Company Pacific Gem 4.9% - A single hopped IPA style-ale made from New Zealand Pacific Gem hops, this is an excellent strong pale ale with lots of flavour and a strong, citrus finish. Hot Chocolate 4.8% - A strong premium bitter brewed with extra chocolate malt, this is a very rich ale which avoids being too heavy on the palate and is deliciously drinkable. Saltaire New World Red 5.1% - A strong red ale which has been triple hopped using New Zealand, Australian and American hop varieties. It has a strong, robust hop flavour with a slightly strong malt taste in the body than other, paler ales. A very well balanced ale and a fine example of modern brewing.
