erebus
According to a study of 20 forces in England and Wales between April 2010 and August 2012, an average of 12.5 percent of "grade 1" incident 999 calls was categorized as domestic violence related. The statistics, which were published by Labour to highlight International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, prompted demands for a strategy to tackle the crime in Britain. According to the Crime Survey for England and Wales, an estimated 1.2 million British women experience domestic abuse a year. Yvette Cooper, the shadow Home Secretary, said, "Domestic violence is a hidden emergency for over a million women in Britain every year who call out for urgent help but are not properly heard. “ Earlier in July, in a speech to women’s groups and criminal justice workers in London, Director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer warned that nine in 10 rapes and other serious sexual assaults go unreported due to the victims’ distrust of the UK criminal justice system. WeX
And your question is? Maybe just that male violence against women is originated by males. Jeffrey, to quote esme to me in a PM some time ago: "We have been forced to remove your post from the above thread as it was just a quite with no comment of your own at all." Shouldn't the above post be removed?
Jeffrey Shaw
I have removed the part to which you object, as requested; and the quotation thereof. But how come you've not answered the substantial point? Yes, some males are violent. What was your question?
bs4124
Hello Erebus I think that domestic violence is shocking. I have been a volunteer worker in the past and have witnessed some awful cases first hand. However I am perplexed by the title of your thread, as domestic violence from women to men is also an issue. See http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/sep/05/men-victims-domestic-violence. I also know of a man who was receiving beatings by his gay partner. All abuse is terrible and NOBODY should have to suffer because of it.
erebus
This is about domestic violence to WOMEN, is that hard to work out? It is such a popular and widely practiced behaviour. What is reported is regarded as the tip of the problem. It suggests a significant percentage of males, around 1.5 million are reported with the unreported possibly reaching 10 million or more. Are these males lacking somewhat in communication skills? It also suggests that a significant number of males have a problem, as the post suggests PHYSICAL violence, psychological could be added, and if so, should be taken seriously. It suggests millions of males choose to be PHYSICALLY violent towards women. Maybe the male sex altogether has a problem, and should be addressed? Such shared attitudes might make women aware that physically violent males like their paedophile and porn loving brothers, have innate psychological problems. Millions of feral males appear to be a threat to women and children. Well what a surprise!!!

Does that mean the entire female species have a problem? No, of course not, just a percentage. Dame with men.

No, of course not, just a percentage. Dame with men. I think you'll find the ratio of male to female crime statistics do not say much for the male species. At a rough guess I'd say about 90/10 I have no doubt some women abuse their partners but if you flipped the problem on its head we'd have to paint all the prison walls pretty pink to accommodate the overly female violent majority. mikem8634
This is about domestic violence to WOMEN, is that hard to work out? This thread is addressing a very serious issue but why adopt such a confrontational stance against those who simply wish to discuss it with you?
