Free loft insulation

Where do you get free loft insulation from?

Take a look at the council website

"Free Insulation Scheme

The Free Insulation Scheme closed to new applications at the end of September 2012. We are now looking at our role in delivering the Government’s Green Deal as the natural successor to the Free Insulation Scheme. More information on the Green Deal will be added as it becomes available."

It looks like you missed out

Energy companies have being doing this for years,it is their way of conning customers into thinking that they care. They totally ignore the many thousands of people who live in Victorian terraced houses and can't have cavity wall insulation.Likewise politicians

We had ours done last month . Just loft insulation as ours is a fairly new build (15 yrs)so we already had cavity wall. . The job was carried out by Corillion on behalf of the council And took about 25 mins tops to do . Only ( minor) problem we had was that the work should have been done the week before and we waited in all afternoon but they never showed . Rang up the company who apologised that the previous job over ran so they couldn't get to us on time . Rescheduled for the following week and this time they turned up . They did the job very cleanly but my husband who suffers from allergies was irritated by fibres in the air ( I couldn't see or detect them at all , but he is a delicate little flower sometimes ;-) )

That's all well and good but this thread is about loft insulation, not cavity wall or politicians.

Or am I missing something in that Victorian terraced houses don't have lofts?

We used to live in an Edwardian terrace and had politicians round quite often, why would Victorian terraces be any different?
