Interesting maths question, what's the answer?

I took it to mean like, erm this question could be any random question, eg

"What colour is my dog"

and 4 answers eg

A. Black

B. Brown

C. White

D. Black

but being unable to see the colours, just the letters

If you picked an answer at random, whats the chance of it being the right answer?

This is how I came to 50% which is probably wrong :D

I was actually answering the more correctly worded question here;

Not sure how you got to 50% anyhow. Had you gone overboard with the random part?

Hmmm if there were 4 answers, 2 of them being the same and correct (my dog is black) you get a 50% chance of choosing the right one? I don't know, I'm half asleep :hihi:

But the answer may be brown, or the other one. In this case though, I think the answer was none of those. In fact, I don't think there was a dog in the first place.
