gym_rat Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 the water you see there now is a graphic demonstration of whats now called a flood plain but in the old days was called a water meadow - hence the area been known as the meadows. iirc, they are not natural, the field at the side of the Sitwell Arms in Renishaw has the same function.
