UKIP, BNP & RESPECT all get more votes than coalition combined in Rotherham

Recommended Posts

Most places that are Tory strongholds are nice, affluent places, so you can understand people voting for more of the same. Why do people vote when all they do is keep people poor and dependent on benefits?

The areas aren't affluent because they're Tory, sir, they're Tory because they're affluent

once again...you pin the tail on a pig..... Do Rvrum Labour voters vote with their eyes closed

Not but they have different views from yours. Is that so hard for you to understand?

The affluent that vote Tory are unaffected by the cuts, that's why they continue to vote Tory. So what incentive is there for the poor to vote Tory, with further welfare cuts making them poorer?

This is very funny, like a knife in the side of all Tory posters on here that would have us believe their continuous attempts to claim SF for their own mean thatb there is strong Tory support in Sheffield, and who try to portray South Yorkshire as being a place where there is a strong undercurrent of Tory support just waiting to burst into life. Guys, you ain't living in the real world.

Neither the Tories or the Liberals have been in power in Rotherham. What have Labour done for the town in all the time they've been in power? Kept people poor and reliant on benefits? No different to Liverpool, Glasgow or any other Labour stronghold.

Maybe you need to remember the systematic destruction of regional towns/cities and industries that Tory policy has played a big part in bringing about.

None of us should be against economic restructuring because we need to move with the times, but economic dismantling with nothing to replace the previous industries has hit the regions very, very hard. A cornerstone of Tory economic policy for decades now.

The Tories are back in power. Isn't this their chance to prove to the voters of places like Rotherham that they care and can make their life better? So tell me what have the Tories done this time? What have they done that makes people in the regions more likely to vote for them? Shouldn't take too much thought because they've done nowt.

I'd never claim anywhere in Sheffield had sense - There is some strange idea of Old Labour here when south yorkshire has suffered as much as anywhere from out dated Socialist ideals - Like I said stick a red rosette on a donkey and the donkey wins,,,,It is a shame really

Like turkeys voting for Christmas, Rotherham is Sheffield's little sister when it comes to Labour voting sheep.

Excellent progress for UKIP.

Slowly but surely this party is beginning to be treated as a real threat to Lib-Lab-Con.
