Why are people putting their life and others on the line?

Recommended Posts

Strange isn't it, the majority of posts on here involve women texting, the two instances I saw were women...

Or are men craftier about doing it...

I'm of the opinion that women use the phone socially a lot more than men do. My wife is never off it, but she doesn't use it while driving, and has no time for texting, which she, like me, finds stupiid. Anyone who kills while texting ought to face a charge of manslaughter, not involuntary homicide.

Foreign truck drivers are real bad for driving along while on the phone they seem to think because they are on the left side of the truck they can't be seen,

just about every time one over takes on the motorway they are always yabbering away on their phones,it gets me so mad as some of them are clearly not concentrating on their driving.

is should be illegal to have a phone switched on in a vehicle. im sure the police can tell a phones location, so if this rule could be introduced, they could pull up all the offenders in bulk. speaking or texting whilst driving is just plain stupid, even more so in a big lorry because im sure they take a bit of handling anyway.

I would advocate that all vehicles have an external recepticle into which a phone could be secreted.A chip could then allow the vehicle to set off;failure to lodge the phone would immobilise the car.

The thing about trucks is it is not just a fender bender when you have a bump people die and the consequences of a split second lack of concentration can be devastating.

So what do you do if you don't have a phone, or it's totally massive and won't fit, or you left it at home, or it's off being repaired because you dropped it down the toilet :loopy:

How about automatic one year ban for anyone on phone or texting?

Would get some idiots off the road.

We should not forget that some people are just stupid-the worst thing I ever saw was a man driving-with a baby of about 10 months old on his knee, she was beaming and holding the steering wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!! he'd have killed her if he'd had to break suddenly at 5 miles an hour I reckon. Sadly I was so shocked and busy shouting at him that I didn't think to take his number to report to police.
