Boiler/Heating Megathread - Advice & Recommendations, No Jobs/Quotes/Advertising

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Wonder if anybody can help me. We have a gas fired boiler heating system. During the last week two of our radiators were only getting lukewarm when before they were red hot. Now all the radiators are just getting lukewarm. I have bled all the radiators so there is no air in any of them. The water is getting hot it's just the radiators.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My Alpha HE25 combination boiler keeps losing pressure. I keep topping up using the filling loop but I have to do it practically every time the heating's been on for a while (it's controlled by a Salus it500 internet thermostat).

I doubt that I've got a leak in any of the rads, as there's been no water. Occasionally been getting water coming out of the pipe on the exterior wall by the boiler too.

Would someone be able to come and fix what's wrong?

I'm on Cobden View Road, Crookes S10 1HT.

Most likely expansion vessel (needs re-charging or replacing) but could also be blocked pipe to expansion or a dodgy pressure release valve. Simple to diagnose, cheers, Steve

Guessing it is NOT a combi ? Check pump, motorised valves, room-stat and boiler itself......many possibilities for this problem, needs a proper diagnostic visit, cheers, Steve

Anyone know where I can buy a Worcester 30i boiler from, I've seen a few on ebay for around £800 but they are miles away, Tia

You can get an Ideal Logic+ or Baxi Duo-tec, both WITH flue for similar price, both 7yr warranty and superior boilers. IMO Worcester are OVER-PRICED average boilers....you are paying for the badge alone
