chem1st
Social housing is helping people to get out of fuel poverty. With above inflation rent rises, people have very little money left for food and fuel. Fuel poverty is defined as spending more than 10% of your income on fuel. What with the rent rises people are having to go without fuel and thus now spend less than 10% of their income on fuel, and they are no longer in fuel poverty. If we increase rents to 100% of income, we could eliminate fuel poverty altogether! Above inflation rent rises are reducing fuel poverty!
geared
You really need to put the source of this information, otherwise people will just think you're ranting your own agenda and won't listen. I think all new built social housing should have solar panels or a ground pump or similar installed, to help reduce the effect of rising fuel bills by generating heat/electricity for the occupant.
