Riannon Posted December 5, 2012 Share Posted December 5, 2012 There are some very odd maths going on on this thread. http://www.ons.gov.uk/ons/dcp171778_271535.pdf There were 723,913 live births in England and Wales in 2011, increasing slightly (by 0.1 per cent) from 723,165 in 2010 There were a further 59870 births in Scotland As it takes around 40 weeks to produce a baby from conception to birth that would indicate around 600,000 women are pregnant in the UK at any one time, and around 2150 learn that they are pregnant each day.
