this_life
No. My teenage use of phone boxes was a 20 digit phone home free number. BT had a scheme where parents could get cards for their children with a long number that you could use from any phone, without any money, for any length of time. We had it for years and all memorised the number. I gave it out to my friends too! And to my sister when she left home. It was a bit limited as I could only phone my family. But I have lots of memories of all different phone boxes using it. Good for getting a lift from the station, we only had to give a 15 minute warning for a lift! Good service.
