Should the MP weekly grocery allowance be higher than dole?

Which to be honest seems a bit on the tight side if anything, I certainly got a better expenses deal than that 15 years ago (in real terms) in a not particularly senior role in a relatively small company.

 

I had better expenses allowance than the MPs when working as an IT Tech, the MPs had it good and blew it, they're only go themselves to blame.

As we pay for everything really...at least we can choose which companies' goods we buy..if the price is too high we can shop around..can't do that with taxes...

I think any meaningful debate on this issue is now concluded, perhaps chemist may want to let us know why he came up with a "grocery allowance" that doesn't exist and a figure of £160 which doesn't tie in with either the old or the new system. Anyway, it's made a change from him banging on about a glorious future based on shack based subsistence farming on roundabouts and motorway verges.
