Anastasia - the Pantomime - will be performed for the first time ever, by Easy Street Theatre Company on 25th and 26th January at the Library Theatre.

The pantomime has been specially written by Alan Frayn, one of Sheffield's favourite writers, and tells the story of Anastasia, the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II.

The story takes us from 1914 St Petersburg to Paris in the mid 1920s, from the Romanov Empire, through World War I and into the birth of the Soviet Union. Historians have never been sure what really happened to Anastasia and many believe she escaped as the sole survivor of the dynasty. Frayn has interwoven the history with the magic of pantomime - so we have a royal family, a mad monk, tragedy, love, music, dance, comedy, and of course an unforgettable Dame, and a happy ending.

Suitable for all the family and a great idea to fill the post-Christmas lull, book your tickets on the hotline - now open - on 0777-889-4860 / 0114-236-7906
