truman
Some university students are under 18,many being prodigies who gain places at 15 or 16.Should they pay? Are there many of those in Sheffield?
Bypassblade
I pay full fare and it's disgusting that so many other people get on free. I'll tell you what, I have a pass; but being as its you, I'll let you have my health problems then I'd pay full fare. Trust me you'd not want them, it also allows me to continue to work albeit a shorter week now but hey ho. Not a great amount get on for free, as has been said weekly savers are very popular, and after 50 years of paying into the system you begrudge pensioners. I'll bet you're a laugh a minute to be round.
Good mood
Same here, been charged £1.70 for a £1 fare before, 3 stops up the hill, when its £1.70 to town! He didn't change his fare stage from Highfield library all the way up to Woodseats I'm not being funny (I am really ) but I'd have walked if your journy was onlythree stops. fozzybear210
Bus drivers- just wondered what rough proportion of people pay a fare as it seems all sorts of people can now get free passes for this and that I'd say roughly 30% if you mean just paying for single fares or concessionary fares. Others either buy week/month tickets and only a handful under 60 have free passes of some sort.
*_ash_*
I got on a bus yesterday, and the driver told me he had no change before I even tried to pay... He would have had to give me 20p back. Then every stop he just told people he had no change, and to go and sit down. One student wanted a 60p fare, and bus driver said he had no change. The student then got back off. Driver shouted "Did I tell you to get off? Sit down I'll take you to town". Student said "Oh no but I'm going to hillsborough pal!" Driver just said,"Well, I can do that as well" I was expecting to have to pay my £2.80 when I got off, but no, because he hadn't taken any money from anyone all the way, he still had no change. Weird experience. He didn't even attempt to take anyones money Perhaps he needed the bog.

Oh I would have, but I had screaming baby in pram, no raincover, and it started peeing it down, one of those sods law moments
max
I'm not being funny (I am really ) but I'd have walked if your journy was only three stops. That reminds me of when my sister came to visit me in Broomhill from down south. The year was 1980 and I told her to get on the number 60 from outside the station and ask for a 10p fare. Her reply was to the effect that if it's only 10p I may as well walk, it can'be far.

A few days later I was waiting at the same stop and the same driver was waiting there to start his shift, we chatted briefly, and when he got on the bus and behind the wheel, he wouldn't take any money off me again, just waved me down the bus
Jim Hardie
It is about time university students were made to pay full fare. They are adults after all. Only pensioners should get free fares and school children should get reduced fares. Are you by any chance?
