No User Name
I figured you would be. Others have a life. If you want to make yourself look like a prat you are going about it the right way. It is very easy to draw up a route that would not disrupt the routines of hospitals. So you juvenile question is only appropriate to a pedant like yourself who is going to waste their entire day. Having an outpatient hospital journey from Mosborough take a minute or 2 extra is not an issue. Having out patients forced to have an overnight stop in the NNGI is. Nobody is being forced, the road route is clear: along the Parkway, up the M1, down past Ecclesfield Morrisons and up over Sheffield lane Top. If people dont want to do this perfectly reasonable alternative and want to stay in the hospital instead then that is their business. I await the details of your route. Clearly the hospital has made provision for them.

Cyclone
They aren't incorrect - to find that amusing speaks volumes about you. They are though. According to what you've said, they're claiming that the hospital is surrounded by closed roads. When in fact it isn't. It's accessible from the North. No User Name
Just a thought. If the NGH are so concerned at the lack of access to NGH, why havent they arranged contingencies at the Hallamshire? Surely some of the things that happen up there (dialysis or whatever) can occur at Hallamshire instead if things are organised?
Cyclone
A bit of route planning and it could have avoided the hospitals and showcased a few of the rather nicer bits of the city. Except that wherever it passed through the city, it would either cut those South of the route off from the hospital, or (if it were North of the hospital) it would cut those North of the route off. ---------- Post added 04-07-2014 at 15:13 ---------- But the route doesn't pass through the city. I just brushes a corner of it. So avoiding the hospitals would be pretty easy. Perhaps if you spent less time trying to attack folk on the forum and more time thinking you would have noticed that. Errr, it goes from outside the city on the West, through to Meadowhall on the East... That's "through", no matter how you look at it. ---------- Post added 04-07-2014 at 15:15 ---------- I figured you would be. Others have a life. Go on then, where would this route be? I still fail to see why anyone is stopping overnight... Just to avoid a detour via the motorway?

Treatments so specialised as renal dialysis are performed in a specially designed area with very skilled staff and specialised equipment. It can only be done in an area where emergency back up is present - something like this can't be shifted to a different site - not even for the TDF. ---------- Post added 04-07-2014 at 15:16 ---------- They are though. 999tigger
Ring the renal dialysis unit and ask them. Do you know how many people are going to be affected? Will they now receive poorer care?
