JFKvsNixon
Correct me if im wrong but didnt sheffield city centre use to host a stage of a cycling race which finished in the city centre some years ago. ? Was it the Milk Race or tour of Britian or something like that . ? Maybe, but that is on a completely different scale to the le Tour. Seriously, if you're asking this question you have no idea how big it is going to be.

Daven
I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but this event will interfere with the access of all vehicles (including emergency ambulances) to the Northern General Hospital ? Staff who are working on the day are being forced into working 12 hour shifts because it will be virtually impossible to enter or exit the hospital for the majority of the day. NightFlight
I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned but this event will interfere with the access of all vehicles (including emergency ambulances) to the Northern General Hospital ?. A quick google suggests that this was already considered, the route altered to avoid causing such an issue. There will be rolling road blocks as you might expect, but emergency service staff will presumably be briefed in what and when these are and alternative routes will be available. [/common sense]

[/common sense] But it will cause disruption to some degree - minutes can cost lives. (/common sense) Note to self - don't get sick on 6th July.
