New York Advice

Recommended Posts

I found it cheaper to book it myself as separate bits. Got flights from Virgin, hotel direct from their site, and got transfers via the airport site at JFK. Worked out quite a bit cheaper. Booked well in advance though.

Yeah book it separate and you can find bargains anywhere. Would recommend air bnb where you stay in a locals home and they help you about. Check tripadvisor for hotels, etc. AVOID craigslist. It is illegal in NYC to lease/rent without a license and most people arent licensed.

Generally its cheaper (airport tax-wise) to fly into Newark, rather than JFK and Manchester has loads of direct flights into Newark as well.

March is a quiet time in the City, and the weather can be mixed from snowstorms to temps in the 20s, though the later is not such a normal occurrence.
