andygardener
A Mosque is no different than a church. It's a place of worship for the faithful There should be no requiremment that a Mosque be forced to perform same sex marriages. Is the government poking it's snoot in and attempting to interfere with the wishes of churches, mosques and synagogues? That's tyranny of the first order No, it's not. Any church or mosque or synagogue or gudwara or whatever can refuse to marry homosexual couples. The only difference between the established churchs and the other religions is that because they have a law requiring them to marry heterosexual couples regardless of denomination they have had to be specifically exempted. Maybe it's time that the government passed a law saying there shall be no established religion of any kind. That would fit in with a modern multicultural society. The Queen might lose her title as being head of the C of E but why should she be involved in anything to do with religion anyway? Britian has moved much further on from the era of Henry the Eighth I don't think the existence of the CofE's a big issue for most British people, so I doubt any government would consider abolishing it as the established Church. It may seem a bit silly to some from outside the UK but perfectly harmless in my view.

Harleyman
Why should we do that would you expect other countries to follow suit? Why is it relevent if other countries forlow suit or not? The UK is not the world trend setter for how other countries should deal with their religious affairs

Glamrocker
Are they demanding bans under Muslim law or gay marriages in general,if the latters the case tell them to keep their noses out and go and practice their backward religion elsewhere,if its the former ,well I suppose the whetstone will be in use.
