30 Police officers on 'Plebgate' enquiry

What is the world coming to?

We live in a world where drug crime and gang culture is rife, not to mention the associated burglary, theft, anti-social behaviour etc... that goes hand in hand with it.

One politician swears at a policeman out of frustration, nobody died, nobody got injured, no laws were broken.

But we have thirty police officers investigating this case.

Thirty officers who could be walking the beat, or catching real criminals, and restoring faith in justice.

London is one of few areas not to have a Police and Crime Commissioner now, apparently that's the mayor's job.

If this was in Sheffield, I would be expecting our Commissioner to speak honestly and say what a waste of resources it is, shut the enquiry down, and get the officers back into real policing.

Rant over!

Amen to that.

The problem is that it could be that laws have been broken. A police officer pretending to be a member of the public and providing false evidence to back up a colleague is a very serious offence.

If he has done it on this occasion then it could put into question the reliability and accuracy of other cases the officer(s) have been involved in.

As far as I know the police are investigating themselves and not the incident with the MP. It may well be that there was a deliberate conspiracy to hound a member of the British cabinet out of office. If those sort of officers are serving on the force they need rooting out before they attempt to finger someone else.
