Bolster
I went to a restaurant the other evening in a small group. I overheard a discussion by the serving staff about tips. The general concensus of opinion seemed to be that people do not tip like they used to and are fast becoming a thing of the past. Do you tip still and should you tip? I only tip if the lady who serves me has good....erm.....manners.

andygardener
I tip my hairdresser and the usual 10% if eating out. Other than that, no.
cressida
I go regularly to a particular cafe/restaurant and usually get the same waiter who I tip, last time I put two paracetamol on the table ready to take, instantly he asked if I wanted a glass of water - I tipped him 50% more
barleycorn
I tip according to the service. For poor service I give nothing, for good attentive service 10%+ depending on how flash I'm feeling. jb
WeX
What does that service comprise of?. Pleasant, happy and attentive serving staff and good food in restaurants. Takeaways delivered within the time frame they gave when ordering.
Mecky
I tend to tip if I'm a regular somewhere but if I'm buying something with money and I see a collecting tin, I usually put in the change rounded up to the nearest pound. OK that isn't a strictly a tip but it's what I do.
Expat owl
Always tip between 10-15% and ALWAYS in cash direct to the server. Most are only on mimimum wage so happy to help.
