Magstherags
I was just parking my car this morning, the car parked in front of me was a saloon car, as I waited for the shops to open, this elderly chap came to his car put some parcels in the back of his car, and then went to the boot, and out jumped a little terrier dog, there was surely no ventilation for the poor thing, I just think it was cruel what do you think? RJRB
I don't see a problem for a small dog and a short journey.it's a lot safer than a loose dog inside the passenger compartment which is both a distraction and a danger.
jmdee
And, perhaps the rear seats fold down to give access into the boot.

simonj
Thought this was going to be about a long dead mummified dog discovered in the back of an old Morris Minor or something, given that it's in the History and Expats section Now moved......! BluePolo
My mate used to put four medium dogs in his boot when taking them for a walk. To get them to the park - his boot wasn't that big!
willman
Technically my dogs all go in the boot - the cars is meant to be a five door but to many people it looks like a saloon.
Penistone999
I have a cage in the back of my Range Rover which my two dogs go in when i take then out walking . I do this purely because after the walk they are usually mucky ,and it keeps the carpets clean . They are both happy in the cage for 15 minutes or so ,and they have plenty of ventilation .Many ,many people put their dogs in the boot of estate cars or 4x4`s when taking them out. It would only be cruel if it was a red hot day ,and there was no ventilation for the dogs .
ANGELFIRE1
Aye, both my dogs ride in the boot, never had a problem with it. To see who loves you the most, lock your wife and dog in the boot for two hours, then open the boot and see which one slobbers all over you. Angel. Isabelle
I used to my (quite large) dog in the car boot. It was the only way of taking him in the car without him getting motion sickness and vomiting everywhere. He must have liked it because he quite happily jumped in of his own accord each time.
