Guest sibon
Why not? You have gun control and it works, right? Right? Right? That's correct. 10/10 for spotting it. Old lady carries gun, attacker carries gun. I'd rather that neither did. It is much more civillised that way. And it keeps the murder rate down. It's coming to something when a valued member of society who just wants to do an honest days thieving from frail old ladies has to deal with such scary things as a real gun. Happily he's alive and well and can now enjoy spending the old ladiy's money on his slag of a girfriend/drugs/booze/ or that long overdue holiday on some far off Greek island while she's destitute and perhaps out in the street. Here's a question? What kind of weapons do bank robbers use in the UK? Or do bank robberies never happen anymore there.

I'm confused now. How does the old lady get a gun, when gun ownership is illegal in the UK?
DYKWIA
I'm confused now. How does the old lady get a gun, when gun ownership is illegal in the UK? Maybe Harleyman thinks gun ownership should be made legal in the UK with a gun shop on every street corner, then the robber and old lady can both have a gun each. Then it becomes a game of who gets their head blown off first.

Maybe he could send the Clanton brothers to sort out the scumbag for the old lady:roll:

Harleyman
That was where I was guiding him gently:) He doesn't always catch on so quickly. But, you are correct. You can't have one without the other. The worst gun violence which took place in Europe happened for decades on your own doorstep... Northern Ireland and yet with all the laws and regulations thousands died anyway. I'll bet even today that the IRA could easily arm themselves if ever they decided to become active again. If you cant effectively make gun control work in a piddling little province like N.I why lecture us on how to do the same here?
