NorthernStar
I'm over 40 and never have any problems finding places to socialise, just wondering what exactly the OP has in mind? Why is it that people always hold up other places they perceive to be better as an example, why don't you move to Leeds or Nottingham if they are such fabulous places to live, having lived in Nottingham and near Leeds myself, I think they are particularly unpleasant places. JFKvsNixon
Thought the saying was, life begins at forty, someone should tell who ever is in charge of the Sheffield night scene, There is just two pubs for the, lets say more mature and then the rest are for the fifteen and overs, places like Leeds, Notts, ect cater for the more mature and it's a proven fact there is less trouble and makes for a good and safe night out, so if there is any one looking to start a buisness in Sheffield surely this would be worth looking into. Is there just one person who is in charge of the Sheffield night scene?
spilldig
I'm 65.I have no problem I enjoy the West street scene. You have to dress properly keep fit and trim, but age is all in the mind.In Australia I have seen 80 year olds in wheelchairs clubbing along untill 6am with youngsters who I reckon were not old enough to be in there.I think some people are born old in attitude. If you think you are past it,you are. sarah_s
Sometimes an early night with an old dirty magazine can be nice, I got a few Just 17 Mags from many years back and read through them. Sometimes nice to go back to your youth. Right Said Fred I'm too sexy:love::love:

Ousetunes
I think you're talking rubbish. I'm 43 and when in town - admittedly during the day - I go to Brown's, Popolo and Henry's. The real ale pubs down Neepsend also benefit from my custom. All are frequented by people in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond!! Then there are wine bars like West 10 in Ranmoor and Menzil's on Ecclesall Rd. Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android
modforlife
There's some right crap been written in the posts above. Me and most of my mates have frequented sheffield since I was old enough to first go down in the early 80's. Sheffield nowadays is by far the best it's ever been. Yes at my age there are certain pubs full of students and the younger crowd I stay well clear off. But there are numerous bars that cater for , and are frequented by people aged over 40. Browns, All Bar 1, Leopold Square, Bessimer, frog and Parrot, Green Room, Forum, West St Live, Maggie mays, all these bars certainly at weekends are full of this age group. Most of the other bars in town certainly have a good mix of age ranges, revolution Cuba, Washington, old House, Walkabout certainly fall into this latter group.
