Are there any Michelin star restaurants in Sheffield?

Greenhead House is excellent and knocks every other Sheffield/Derbyshire restaurant in to touch..and I've been to them all

Ah yes, another one to add to that list. I've not been yet, so I do forget it's there!

Totally and utterly wrong, I've been before and after and the food was/is still great, I've taken people to the Milestone who have not been before and it is now a favourite of theirs too.

Your comments merely sound bitter.

I've eaten at the Milestone 4 times and have been sick 3 times.

The first time was unfortunate

The second was a coincidence

The third was probably proof that it was the food at the Milestone.

I've heard amaing things about Fscher's in Baslow - http://www.fischers-baslowhall.co.uk/dining

Must admit I forgot about The Geenhead House had a nice lunch there. As for knocking every other Sheffield/Derbyshire Restaurant in to touch well that is all about personal opinion rather than fact and I have been to a great deal of them as well.

A little bit further out but still not that far are the Three Acres at Shelley and the Farmers Boy at Shepley.

And also not forgetting for good pub food The Bulls Head at Ashford in the Water and for more high end The Cavendish at Baslow.

And I am still very much wanting to go to this place

Unfortunately I have to agree with the other chap. I used to love the place as it had great food and amazing wine including ones from Lebanon but over the last couple of years it has gone down the pan. Shame...

The Milestone always seems to cause some debate - people either love it or hate it! I've been a fair few times over the years (pre and post Simon) and I have never had a bad experience. One of the lucky ones? I don't know - I'm just one of those who love it!

We went a couple of times when it first opened and weren't particularly impressed. I am sorry to hear about the subsidence though.

Wow! you've been busy then if you've been to every restaurant in Sheffield and Derbyshire. :o

Not knocking Greenhead btw - it's some years since we went there and yes it used to be very good. Must give it another try sometime. It was just a bit poky like someone's front room I seem to remember. So not terribly inspiring from that point of view, but the food was good.
