Penistone rd roundabout

If this is the Leppings Lane roundabout then about time.

It's ridiculous that 2 lanes of traffic exiting town are regularly held up by 1 lane of traffic coming down the A61 heading up Leppings Lane and often backing up onto the roundabout.

Traffic lights should control the flow of traffic much better and reduce the queue heading out of the city.

There was a similar juntion to this in Nottingham that was converted to traffic lights and now it seems to flow much better.

It's even more ridiculous that two lanes of traffic going out of the city and two lanes coming in are held up by the traffic lights at the end of Claywheels Lane which go red to let out er... nothing.

I travel all along Penistone road to work and back each day. High Green to town.

It is where the traffic builds up, and causes ques as people sit on the island and stop others getting past, if its lights at least it will stop that happening.

A massive problem in the morning is people queuing to get into Morrisons, the turning lane isn't big enough and it causes the right hand side of the dual carriage way to come to a halt.

Thats a bigger problem i think.

It won't stop that happening at all. All that will happen is that people will squeeze through the lights at the last second so as not to get stuck behind them, blocking off the roundabout. Then the next side will set off at their green light paying no attention to said cars sat in the middle and will block it from their side too.

Has anyone got the feeling that when SCC start looking at changing the roads they sit and wonder how best to slow everyone down and make the roads more hellsih than they already are?
