What about all the British who were not born in this country? i.e children of members of the armed forces who were serving overseas,and many others? They should be given priority too. The foreigners who move here should never be given priority as they have the choice of moving back to their own country and taking their chances there. Unless you're a racist then why does it matter? Whats wrong with just issuing social housing on peoples need regardless of their nationality? Cant think of another country that puts its own people behind those of immigrants who havent contributed anything to the country.crazy and so unfair on those who have been on the waiting list for years. You don't get benefits in the USA, Canada, Australia and the majority of the EU. Its just us, British who are intent on giving everything away to people who have no right to it. America does have a benefits system - which includes social housing, health care and more.
