rodnreeluk
Are you areal socialist? What would you propose?I think the wages are to be subsidised, not fully funded.I am proud to be a real socialist. I believe in fairness to all, which means not subsidising big business to the detriment of the working man. What do I propose? - As I said earlier: If the jobs exist the companies should employ people to do them, on decent wages. The government should not use your and my taxes to supply firms with free labour, paid at a pittance, with no long-term future.
tinfoilhat
Obviously something you can't even begin to comprehend Good job avoiding the question. You're so one eyed, if you caught little ed in bed with your wife you'd tuck him in. Tell my why this is better than work fare or tell me why it's a good idea. The state ,in a socialist system will use a range of taxes etc. to alter the market to achieve a desired outcome;under a capitalist system the state do nothing ,relying on market forces and accept the consequences. Are you a real free-market socialist like Blair? matsalleh
So what happens after the 6 month period is over ? The next lot do a 6month stint .This then becomes a continual rota. Then of course the employment figures are stable.

We don't have a socialist system. We don't have a capitalist system. We have a mix of the two. We also have unfair rigged (against consumers) markets masquerading as free markets - energy, banking, housing, agriculture etc... We have essentially a corporatist-capitalist state with element of social welfare that becomes less and less at the heart of the system every day. tinfoilhat
On a not unrelated matter, are we wasting money on long term unemployed ?? I mean 129400 is a small amount out of 2milion. I'd guess that a large chunk of those were out of work in the heady days of 2005. Shouldn't they (they being labour, conservative , lib dem EVERYONE fan boys ) being trying to help people who have been unemployed for say between 6 months and two years ?? According the this article http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/article-1704246/15m-who-have-never-worked-a-day-in-their-lives.html an awful lot haven't worked and a fair chunk don't want to. There have been workshy since the start of the welfare state so surely help should be given first to people who do want to work ??
