Jim Hardie
The vast majority of TVs have FreeView. The only ones that don't have it are the ones offering FreeSat. These require a dish so ask the salesman or read what it says on the box.
neeeeeeeeeek
Just buy a freeview box from Argos for a tenner. You might need a new aerial depending on reception.
yorkiepudd
Everyone SHOULD be able to get freeview now - it's the only way to watch 'normal' terrestrial TV. The number of channels you will get depends on where you live (which transmitter you get the signal from). Put your postcode in HERE and that will give you a good idea. you will also need a TV suitable for Digital TV signals (usually it will say DTV somewhere) OR a freeview DTV box that will plug into the back of your existing TV Hope all that makes sense and helps you
Dalek Boy
Yes, it can be a very confusing area for people who don't keep up with technology for whatever reason. Do you watch TV presently by using an aerial or a satellite dish? Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android
F1nutter
If its currently by aerial they must already have freeview

geared
You cannot receive analogue tv anywhere in the UK anymore, you cannot buy a new analogue tv anymore. If you buy a TV in the shop it will be able to receive freeview, unless it's a freesat TV.
silverknight
Everyone is able is to receive the basic Freeview service via an aerial direct to a digital Tv if you have an analogue tv then you need a digital box or digital PVR - your Old TV will act as a monitor screen. The basic freeview service is All BBC TV & radio plus ITV 1 C4 C5 The Full Freeview Service is as Basic plus ITV 2 /3/4 More 4 etc. It all depends on which transmitter you are on
