Valentine's Day

Recommended Posts

If I say that will spoil it! :P

I let myself be appalled by the big pink and red wall of cards in Clintons and after much deliberation (1 minute) selected a card.

Do guys like cards?...I know my male friends are disparaging towards the card buying thing even on birthdays and Christmas as its all a bit "girly" but I bought one anyway!

I dunno I think guys are harder to buy for cos you cant really give em the old chocolates and flowers and fluffy teddies thing

Haha at martin_s!

You wouldn't believe the hassle chris and I have ad trying to get a table for valentines...

First we tried Trattoria Romana, they wanted a £5 per head to confirm the booking and would only let us choose from a set menu (about £25 or so)

Secondly Chris telephoned BB's...They said we could only go at 5.15 - now who goes anywhere at 5.15??!!

Thirdly, Chris telephoned Piccolos and they told us it was another set menu around £23 and wanted £10 per head to confirm the booking... Cheeky you know whats!!!

So finally, Chris had the face on that so many people were making a mint out of valentines day and that we couldn't get a table anywhere decent... So I crept upstairs and rang BB's for the second time and got us a table around tenish... No set menu, no booking fee, just bring your bottle as usual!!!

As for presents, I know what I'm having from him as I have picked it! (hehe) and I know what I'm getting him but I won't say as he'll probably read this thread!

And I am with you there on that one on the basis that I've been married too long to bother about romantic slush like that.

I'll third it. There's alot of pressure to be 'with' someone special or 'find your true love on Valentines Day', it's far too commercialised (kinda like Christmas) and it gives us singles another reason to feel bad about our singleness, even though we really shouldn't cos we don't have the burden of searching all the stores, yellow pages and travel mags trying to find the perfect Valentines gift, restaurant, getaway or experience....once again!

HA HA you poor non-single saps. ;)
