Nesbitt
It never ends. The labour run council is being severely punished by the ConDem government. When will the victimisation of Labour run councils end? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-20343807
metalman
What you mean is, when will these constant press releases from Sheffield Council moaning about the cuts they have to make, cease?

When will the victimisation of Labour run councils end? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-20343807 Excellent news. The more they keep chipping away at the flabby, overstaffed, badly managed council the better. Maybe if they stopped recruiting for another batch of new senior level staff and actually pooled their resources from their own crop internally that might save even more money. Expat owl
Sheffield council has millions held back in reserves, have millions outstanding in unclaimed council tax and spent millions last year on consultants. Maybe if they did their job properly instead of continuing to waste money then they'd have an argument. However, we're talking Labour here so they have absolutely no idea about budgets or restraint !!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2257385/The-apocalypse-The-Labour-councils-squandering-cash-tomorrow-despite-claiming-cuts-taken-brink-civil-unrest.html

biotechpete
When will this Labour council own up to what they are doing? They pay dozens of employees to carry out trade union work instead of working for the council. They have allocated £2.2 million to refurbish the Town Hall meeting rooms. The council had a budget surplus of £6.8 million last financial year with a reserve of £167m. The council have spend just £225K of the £5.3 million allocated by central government in the last 2 years for the new homes bonus scheme. In addition central government is responsible for the nearly every good news story in Sheffield. £2bn for the roads PFI City Deal worth up to £500 million £18m extra for schools via the pupil premium £10m for new Sheffield University Technical College Electrification of the midland mainline & high speed rail secured. Instead of working hard to secure investment in our city, Labour are wasting their time scaremongering in the press.
BarryRiley
I think it's safe to say SCC will find it very difficult to gain support from their constituents regarding budget cuts Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android

They always seem to have enough money to hire consultants on a regular basis to "Advise", so they cant be that skint.
