fleetwood
If you go to 'hillsbro' postings around #5219 on the Grimesthorpe thread the house he described at 432 Grimesthorpe Rd would have to be one of the oldest still standing and habited, probably built approx mid 1800's. chem1st
Watched a program on it yesterday, supposed to be named after "Grim's Tor".
beezerboy
Probably not the oldest but the Hallcar Tavern opened about 1845 ,and is I believe technically in Grimesthorpe being east of Carwood Rd and in the St Thomas parish. I have a special interest in this as I had to pass it (rarely) to get to the bus stop. Also my Grand ma was landlady there in 1942-44.
