baz52 Posted January 8, 2013 Share Posted January 8, 2013 I Had the same problem with a 1999 Escort so yours could be the same. On mine the earth return from the lights went through the hatchback lid hinges and I ended up connecting a wire from the lid to the body and it cured it.
