Should 50 Grand Be The Cut Off Point.

Recommended Posts

To put an an end to ALL the arguments, crocodile tears and the gnashing of teeth.

Would it be a a good idea for any Government to say to the general public, at £50 grand ALL benefits stop.

If you earn nearly a grand a week and cannot manage, there is summat up somewhere.

Think of the brass it would save in Government, they could get rid of thousands of civil servants who are struggling to impliment the stupid benefit system we have at this time.

Where a married couple who work and have sproggs can claim if they earn £95 grand, (£47.500 each) but the same couple with one working, and earning £51 grand cannot claim owt. Madness pure madness.

Angel.

to be honest even the family earning 49k are well paid.......

thats nearly twice the average wage and therefore they are being subsidised by people earning maybe a quarter of that in some cases....

there is definitely madness in the descrepencies in the system....

The benefits system should just be abolished. This isn't 1948 anymore. It's 65 years later and Britain and the world are far different places. We cannot afford to keep throwing money away on people who have no interest in getting on in life.

What will you do with the two million unemployed then?

I know that thought isn't your strongest suit, but do give us the benefit (see what I did there?) of your wisdom.

I have a supplementary question waiting:)

Harsh!

You have to remember that by the same token (due to automation, and many other factors) The job market has changed too, especially in an area which was previously geared to manufacturing.

Having said that, people should be more flexible I guess.

People should be prepared to move where the work is.

What if there isn't enough work to go round?

If you don't like that question, try this one:

What if there is enough work to go round?

Make reference to the minimum wage in your answer.
