Marx
A Charity close to my heart has got the National Lottery slot on Saturday. 'Lost Chord' provide musical concerts in care homes to people with demetia. They utilise professional musicians to provide the concerts and volunteers who encourage participation. The results are amazing to behold. People who haven't spoken in years are suddenly singing. Helena Muller, the CE realised that music is the last thing to be lost in the mind of a dementia sufferer and much research has since confirmed her hypothesis. This is a local charity that is Rotherham based and now provides concerts in South Yorkshire, London, Cardiff and the Midlands. All concerts are heavily subsidised and depend on grants and donations to keep peoples' memories alive. If you want to volunteer or find out more about the charity, click here. I have been involved with them for many years.

Becky B
I didn't realise it was a South Yorkshire charity, as when I saw them the musicians had come from London. Having read the website I now understand, but surely there must be some musicians locally as well!

Marx
They punch well above their weight. There are only three paid staff and two of them are part-time.
