Having got half the 'indigenous' population up the stick!

yep and they assimilated into the culture becoming the Anglo-Saxons. They were culturally similar to the indigenous population in terms of religion and customs where as the migrants that have come in the Uk over the last 40-60 years tend to come from much further afield, with cultures and customs that not only appear alien to the British population, but also go against many of our freedoms and values. Of the groups that are arriving to date, its as though the further away they come from, the less likely they are to intergrate and many refuse to even use English!

Over the last 40-60 years? That would include groups of people who genuinely have an interest in Christianity (not just at Xmas) and high regard for the history and culture of the Mother Country, which would put many native Britons to shame..in other words thousands of people from former Commonwealth countries (which is quite far away).

They have a "genuine interest in Christianity" because they are niave and superstitious enough to believe in such nonsense. The one thing that can be said in their favour is that they seldom believe that their particular imaginary friend is telling them to blow up other races, unlike some other religions.

I know they gave their lives as with our troops they were protecting their own countries, people tend to drift into the assumption that all the allied countries got together to protect the UK ,the title gives you a big clue WORLD War 2 like us they defended what was theirs against the threat of Nazi Invasion..Mr Hitler wasnt bothered how many countries he sought to dominate ,the more the merrier as far as he was concerned.

Jesus H, go and read a book please Glam, you can't just re-write history to suit your daft agenda. :hihi:

Commonwealth personnel fought under the British flag, under British control and didn't have full independence in terms of military matters. Commonwealth soldiers fought in Europe and on the British home front and were happy to do so, after all Hitler wasn't threatening the beaches of Australia or the Caribbean any time soon.

This should make interesting reading for a nationalist who doesn't know much about his country's own history ;)

That may well be true frededwards, but I was responding to a point made by another poster about immigrants in the last 40-60 years practising religion which is alien to the native population.

Oh dear.

Here, this should help you with your misconception.

You're welcome.

The Saxons were a confederation of Germanic tribes on the North German plain, some of whom migrated to Great Britain during the Middle Ages and formed part of the merged group of Anglo-Saxons that would eventually carve out the first united Kingdom of England.

The Saxons, became the Anglo-Saxons after they had settled Britain and merged with the other tribes. That is the group the term represents.

You're more than welcome though for the correction.

Did they, so you must have know the population of England at the time of the occupation to make such a statement. Could you please let us all know what this population figure is if you think they impregnated half of them.

That is just the sort of pathetic, holier-than-thou comment, in response to a light hearted post, that makes certain members of this forum so infuriating. Grow up.

Personally I don't see the problem with commonwealth countries as the UK's culture and values have had an effect on these nations to the point where many of them are as British as white person who's never left his village in deepest darkest Yorkshire.

Shut up, asking for evidence is not juvenile. Attacking someone for doing so shows you have something to hide.
