jakeanthill Posted September 22, 2015 Share Posted September 22, 2015 check out a totally DIY venue called the LUGHOLE in Sheffield that's where it happens punk wise, totally independent, scene bands and venue. cool local bands writing and playing their own stuff, chewed up ska punk, dry heaves, rock n rolly punk, rotten love 77 styleee, detergents also 77 ish, brainfreeze, uk/us style hardcore ala GBH/snfu. Mulberry Tavern have regular punk nights as well,may not be as diy as bring your own beer but the original punk scene in Sheffield was all in pubs like Hallamshire/Marples/Take Two etc.The bands are all diy mainly,'real' punk scene makes it sound a bit clicky tbh.Surely any venue that promotes it and not in it for the money is the same?A lot of bands that have played there have got as far as playing the introducing stage at Rebellion this year and also at the Great british alternative last year and this.
