Things to look for when buying a van

Recommended Posts

90000 miles, x reg renault kangoo it is

Get proof of the cambelt being changed if that lets go the engine is history.them vans are not very good on the transmition look at the front drive shafts listen for any noises and clicking sounds when turning they suffer badly with gearbox and clutch problems, they are not really a good van to buy if they have a bit of mileage on them its probably been thrashed and abused.

All vans have been thrashed and abused to be fair, it seems par for the course.

At 90K it's probably past it's best.

If you aren't a mechanic then there's not much point in looking at things because you don't know what you're looking at or what to look for.

Best bet is to check the paperwork, make sure it's been serviced at the correct intervals (which you can find in the manual)

If it comes with a decent amount of MOT thats good, if it's needing it doing soon then thats a sign it's probably going to fail and the owner knows it.
