CeeCee
Its not all that good (as pointed out in previous threads) if its an appointment you don't want your Partner/children/mum/dad or anyone else who may live in your house and answer your phone to know about Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android I know what happened to Data Protection! Leah-Lacie
But look, OP for example, gets a call and doesnt know about the system. It could have caused a lot of problems. No good adding NTR after the event! Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android

Patients need to be made aware that they can do this though because obviously they don't know.
Bypassblade
The phone has just rang, I picked it up and it was an automated call from the Northern General hospital reminding me of an appointment I have next week. It asked me if I would be attending the appointment, I figured I had to say "yes" out loud, so I did, which felt a bit weird; it then thanked me and then ended. Is this horrible impersonal service the norm? I hope not because I dont want to live in that kind of a society. Had my call today @ 6pm from cardiology at NHG, and I welcome them, TBH I'm good with my appointments but if I get a bit forgetful, it jogs my memory. I personally think its a great service that is given by the hospitals. I had one a few weeks ago & the wife answered it, it then asked if she were me, she said no, and it rang back the next day when I was able to take; no harm done:thumbsup:
That easy
A doctor told me that referrals to specialist at the hospital cost hundreds of pounds so if they're missed...it's a huge waste. I don't get your problem. I appreciate the reminder, thats not my gripe, but what happened to speaking to a human being on the phone instead of these automated messages? Possibly cheaper than paying someone overtime to ring everyone up

gnvqsos
There too busy chopping wrong legs off. Thats right-it does seem daft to get the surgeon to ring round all his patients after a long shift at the slab.
