WeX
Sorry to drag up an old thread but rather than start a new one this will suffice see link they are going back into administration. I liked the story where Netflix approached Blockbuster about a deal. They, Netflix would provide Blockbuster material online and Blockbuster provide Netflix material in their stores. Blockbuster laughed them out of their meeting saying they would never get off the ground.

geared
There's no wonder they're back in Administration. All they did was close a few stores, STILL have not got into the online business and now it's just too late. Asset strip it and be done with it, thats the only way someone's going to make some cash off the mess.

FACEBOOK
This is probably one of the few businesses where you could see what was coming years before it did. They had so long to adapt and become digital leaders. It's so embarrassing.
anywebsite
They did try to get into the online rentals by post business a few years ago, couldn't really compete with Lovefilm, despite having shops as well. It would've needed a lot of investment to turn them into a successful online business.

WeX
Cheers Wex, so really a case of he who laughs last Haha, yeah kind of. Its not as though they were caught out by a fast moving industry. They had inside knowledge of what was happening and made the decision to ignore it and hope it went away. Unfortunately for them, it didn't and eventually put them out of business.
