i lived on cross for 10 yrs. Never 1 problem had nice neighbours for 9 of the ten yrs, it was great only in last yr did they move the trouble causers in who drove 3 neighbours off that rd. 1 who had lived there since being a child, us and another who was actually a home owner needless to say the ones who started all the trouble in the first place are still there after countless police, council visits and social services visiting. Its wrong but like every area in the uk it has been spoiled by a minority and gives stupid prats cause to comment badly on the area all the time

Indeed.

There are so many good people in this city, it is unbelievable. On the Cross on the Manor, even in Dore. It matters where not somebody comes from. But people are judged unfairly.

By what they wear, where they were born, where they live, by their current employment status etc.

Seldom are people judged by their actions. (This might be a blessing in disguise - living in a poor area, one might be stigmatised, but you get to meet so many great people, and have a better quality of life.)

Is it wise to be teaching the children of Parson Cross to use knives?

Why the negativity, Parson' s Cross is a place, some families are bad but don't tar every person there as bad.I read in the thread that there had only been around 9 comment possibly because it was a positive story. Same negativity for any stories in Woodthorpe or the Manor areas. Some people need to wise up.

Yes it is good. Its nice to hear about something wholesome and positive going on in Parson Cross for once.

I remember a great carving of a face in a tree at the library somewhere in between Firth Park and Firvale, does anyone know if thats still there?

hi,yes the carving you mentioned is still there.it's in the "boating lake"(as we used to call it)next to the old library on firth park road.
