PopT
Hi Magstherags There is a internet site called, 'Sheffield Soldiers of the Great War' created by Dean Hill the Sheffield Great War Historian. The site lists all aspects of the Great War including War Memorials and Plaques. I do hope this is of use to you and I hope you find what you are looking for. Happy Days! Droppingwell
Firth Browns was I believe taken over by Forgemasters. Their site on Brightside Lane still has the war memorials up, I drive past it every night. I know your uncle may not have been based there as it would have been English Steel Corporation then but could names have been added to it? may be worth a look.
