hotratz
Councillors in south-west Ireland have backed a plan to relax the drink-drive limits for some isolated constituents. The motion backed by Kerry county councillors would allow police to issue permits overriding the legal limit. Councillor Danny Healy-Rae, who proposed the motion, said it would apply to "older people" who "are being isolated now at home, and a lot of them falling into depression". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21143199 Are they serious? chem1st
They should have to take a test drunk. I passed my test on the 2nd time, the first time I failed. The 2nd time I was stoned. So by rights I'm only safe to drive after a cheeky smoke.

I went to college with someone who made the same argument. He said he should have a special licence with a leaf on it.

ChrisT70
if you have ever stayed in rural Southern Ireland the chances of being caught/stopped for drink driving are a million to one. we used to stay in a quiet little village and all the locals knew the time and date of any speed camera activity on the main road thro the village and when the local bobby was going to come by and do breath tests. for some reason it was always non local cars that were stopped lol. gnvqsos
I guess if there is little traffic on the road there is less chance of third party involvement.
