All other papers, even other left leaning papers make profit and so pay for themselves while the Guardian makes a loss. This means others have to put money in to keep it going. alchresearch Posted January 23, 2013 Share Posted January 23, 2013 When Blockbuster first opened, they offered big, bright stores, lots of choice, extended opening hours and guaranteed copies of the latest titles. Smaller independent video shops (I remember when Sheffield only had a couple - Bridge Street Video by Guns and Ammo was one of the first) couldn't match this and closed.
